Movie:God, it’s been the same one since I was 16, which makes me wonder if I need to reevaluate. But no, I stand by my answer:Harold and Maude.
Book: Crossing to Safety by Wallace Stegner
Author: You’d think I’d say Wallace Stegner, wouldn’t you? But nope. Anne Lamott.
Artist: Sally Mann
Dessert: depends on the weather. molten chocolate cake with some kind of ice cream in the winter. peach and berry cobbler with some kind of ice cream in the summer. strawberry shortcake with cream biscuits and whipped cream in the spring. Lemons aren’t really specific to fall, but let’s say lemon meringue pie in the fall, because lemon meringue pie needs to be a part of this list.
Cereal: oatmeal with milk and honey.
Fruit: There’s not much I like more than a small, sweet, intense strawberry in season.
Drink: I like cocktails, a lot. I really like the cocktails at Leon’s. My favorite drink though is probably the “Miller Thyme” from Miller Union, which is a gin, lemon, and thyme drink:
Soap: Mrs. Meyer’s basil flavored hand soap.
Sport/team: Lord. I wish I had one to give you. Um, when I lived in Roanoke, VA I would go see the Minor League team of the neighboring town, The Salem Avalanche. Tickets were something like $5 a piece and I got to sit up with the players’ wives. That was really fun. In general, I like any sporting activity where I can be in the sun, drink a beer, and eat a hotdog.
Animal: brown dogs. Also tabby cats.
City or place: New York City. You can never fully know it. There’s always more to explore.
Coffee or tea? Coffee in the morning, Sleepytime tea at night.
Tool you can’t live without: silicone spatula that is heat resistant up to 450 degrees. Perfect for cooking custards, or bechamel, or risotto.
